Equipment in this room:
- Epson LCD multimedia projector
- Audio amplifier
- Computer
- Overhead projector
- VCR/DVD combo
To use the computer and LCD projector:
- Turn on the computer inside the a/v cabinet.
- Turn on the projector by pressing the “Power” button on the projector inside the cabinet. You can access the power button from the opening in the top of the cabinet. The projector may take a minute to warm up.
- If the computer image does not appear on the screen after the projector has warmed up, press the “Source Search” button on the projector until the computer’s image appears on screen.
- If computer audio is required, turn on the amplifier and adjust the “CPU” dial.
- When finished, turn off the computer. Turn off the projector by pressing the projector’s “Power” button twice.
To connect a laptop to the LCD projector:
- Connect the laptop to the VGA cable at the top of the cabinet.
- Turn on the projector by pressing the “Power” button on the projector inside the cabinet. You can access the power button from the opening in the top of the cabinet. The projector may take a minute to warm up.
- Turn on the laptop.
- If the computer image does not appear on the screen after the projector has warmed up, press the “Source Search” button on the projector until the computer’s image appears on screen.
- If the computer’s image still does not appear on the projection screen, simultaneously press the FN key and the LCD/CRT key on the laptop. This may need to be repeated until the image appears on the projection screen. The LCD/CRT key can have many different appearances, but is always one of the function (e.g. F5, F7 or F8) keys at the top of the keyboard (see photo). You may need to press the “Source Search” button again.
- To connect the laptop to the audio system, connect the audio cable (attached to the VGA cable) to the laptop’s headphone jack. Ensure the laptop’s volume is up. Turn on the audio amplifier and adjust the volume using the “Computer/Laptop” dial.
- When finished, turn off the projector by pressing the projector’s “Power” button twice.
To play a VHS tape or DVD:
- Turn on the VCR/DVD player.
- Turn on the projector by pressing the “Power” button on the projector inside the cabinet. You can access the power button from the opening in the top of the cabinet. The projector may take a minute to warm up.
- Turn on the amplifier and use the “DVD/VCR” dial to adjust the volume.
- Insert the DVD or VHS tape into the VCR/DVD player.
- When finished, turn off the projector by pressing the “Power” button on the projector twice.
**Note: When finished, turn off all equipment, return the remote(s) to the cabinet and lock the cabinet door.**
