Web Publishing 

College Web Site

The development and maintenance of the official King’s College Web Site is the responsibility of the College Web Designer, Tim Bugler with assistance from the King’s Web Team. The web team’s goal is to create a site which is both visually appealing and fully accessible to all users. Centralized maintenance creates a uniform and professional site while adhering to established guidelines for logos, images, colours and backgrounds. Linkages between pages within the site and to outside locations are carefully monitored for functionality and accuracy.

The web team collects and formats information from all administration and faculty departments. Faculty members are responsible for their individual course material.

Web Page Content

Department chairs are responsible for ensuring that departmental web sites are updated frequently to maintain the accuracy of the posted information. Department chairs will request their department secretary forward any new information or updates to the web team. 

Page content must be submitted electronically, by either disc or email. The information may be provided in Word, WordPerfect or plain text. HTML is not required. Formatting will be done by the web team as necessary. 

The web team reserves the right to alter image size or edit page layout as necessary.  

Procedures For Submitting Page Content

Page content and supporting files are to be sent to kucweb@uwo.ca and confirmation of receipt will be issued. In the case of extremely large file sizes which cannot be accommodated by the UWO email server, files may be sent directly to the Technical Services FTP server. FTP accounts will be created for all division contacts. 

Web Resources

All UWO computer account users have access to web space for publishing. Faculty, Staff and Students have access to the publish.uwo.ca web server for personal use. For instructional purposes, faculty may use the instruct.uwo.ca web server. Web space is also available on the King's ITS servers, www.kingsfaculty.ca.
